it is now time to start pot vegetable plants indoors: Tomato plants, marrows, melons, cucumbers, chillis and peppers can all be started in a greenhouse

Tomato totem is a lovely dwarf tomato that needs no sideshoots removed and can grow in a small pot and be transferred out onto the patio in summer. Tomato tumbler (or tumbling tom red) can be grown easily in a hanging basket. try one plant in a 12" basket or 3 in a 14" basket

It is also a good time to start planting up hanging baskets and tubs. They will need protection from  frost until mid May so are best started off in a greenhouse.
